The problem

Scheduling tools optimize for coverage — filling shifts against a demand forecast. That's necessary, but it treats labor as if it's disconnected from everything else that happens on the floor: food cost, service speed, and compliance. A schedule that's technically fully staffed can still be one certified person short of a HACCP check, or tight enough on a Friday dinner rush to cause the kind of rushed portioning that shows up as a food-cost problem three weeks later with no obvious cause.

The product

Manus is workforce and operations management built to treat scheduling as a lever connected to cost and compliance outcomes — not a standalone staffing exercise measured only by whether every shift has a warm body in it.

Key features

Demand-aware scheduling

  • Shift recommendations built from the same forecasting layer that drives inventory and prep planning, not a separate guess
  • Overtime risk flagged before the schedule is published, not discovered on the following week's labor report
  • Shift-swap and coverage-gap workflows built for how QSR and casual dining teams actually operate

Compliance built into the schedule, not bolted on

  • HACCP checks, temperature logs, and closing procedures assigned to certified staff automatically — a schedule can't be published with a compliance gap unless a manager explicitly overrides it
  • Certification and training expiry tracked per employee, with renewal reminders before a gap opens
  • Full audit trail on every compliance task: who did it, when, and what it showed

The connection other tools miss

  • Shifts staffed below a manager-set threshold get flagged against historical food-cost and service-time patterns for that store — not as a guess, but based on what's actually happened before under similar staffing
  • Labor cost, on a rolling basis, shown next to the operational outcomes it's most likely to be driving
  • Store, region, and network rollups so a labor pattern isn't invisible just because no single store's number looks alarming alone

Built for shift-based teams

  • Mobile-first for shift leads and hourly staff, not a desktop tool nobody on the floor actually opens
  • Multi-language support for diverse frontline teams
  • Works offline for shift confirmation and task completion in low-connectivity kitchens

Integrates with

Why Zentallio built this

Labor is one of the few decisions a manager makes every week that touches cost, speed, and compliance simultaneously. Most tools optimize one of those three and treat the other two as somebody else's problem. Manus treats them as the same problem, because on the floor, they are.

See it on your data

Manus is built to layer on top of your existing payroll and HR systems, not replace them. Ask about rollout timelines for multi-state or multi-country labor compliance requirements.
